~ Catskill Exotic Bird Club ~
The Catskill Exotic Bird Club is a regional association of owners and breeders of exotic birds. We are dedicated to the preservation of all wild bird species and their environments, the encouragement of domestic breeding programs, and the enforcement of strict national importation laws. We also strongly promote the education of our members and the general public regarding the selection and care of exotic birds as pets. Our club meets the second Thursday of each month at 7:30pm at the TD North Bank in Monticello, New York. Our monthly programs feature a variety of speakers on avian subjects, and our field trips have taken us to many places of interest that are devoted to exotic birds. We have a monthly newsletter that includes contributions from many members and news items of interest to us all. We produce a bird show each autumn, in Liberty, New York, that has a strong educational theme. There are also vendors of bird products and an informal pet bird judging that is done in all parrot, finch, canary, and other softbill categories. We have been in existence 19 years as of July, 2006.
