The Catskill Bird Club is a regional association of owners and breeders of unusual and intersting birds.   We have been in existence since July of 1987 as of July, 2006 and have seen our membership grow yearly.  
    We also strongly promote the education of our members and the general public regarding the selection and care of different species of birds as pets. We strongly believe in the prohibition of importing wild birds for the pet industry. 
    Our club meets the second Thursday of each month at 7:30pm at the TD North Bank in Monticello, New York.  Many members bring their birds, which is both educational and fun. Our monthly programs feature a variety of expert speakers on avian subjects.  We also enage in  field trips that have taken us to many places of interest for devotees of exotic birds.  Our monthly newsletter includes contributions from many members and news items of interest to us all. 
    In the Fall of each year, we produce a Bird Show in Liberty, New York,.  We ensure that the show is not only fun but has a strong educational theme as well.  As part of the show we  have many vendors of bird products such as toys, cages and suppliments and other bird related products.  There is pet bird judging that is done by bird catagory for all parrot, finch, canary, and other softbill categories.
